We have had Leng babysit for us a number of times.
She is, hands down, my son (age 7) and daughter's (age 5) favorite babysitter.
She has a lovely way of engaging them right off the bat in activities
(she has a Mary Poppins quality bag full of small blocks
and games that she always brings with her).
She's also extremely responsible - meals, clean-up, bedtimes always happen on time.
I highly recommend her as a babysitter.

While at Bridgewater, I babysat on weekends and during the summer. Many of the children I babysat I have known for over ten years, since they were three months old at LexiCare. I was able to build a large network of families with whom I have lasting friendships and strong professional relationships. In addition to childcare I have also become a household manager for busy moms. My responsibilities include organizing, shopping and setting up events for families who need an extra set of hands.
My experience with a broad range of ages in many different types of environments has prepared me to handle any situation in a calm and professional manner. I am highly motivated, energetic, fun and always up for a challenge. I am interested in finding work that allows me to use my creativity, organizational skills and positive attitude.
Throughout my high school years, I worked at LexiCare Children's Center in Lexington as an assistant teacher, primarily in the infant and toddler rooms. A source of pride for me while working there was my gentle touch with the children and my ability to work in an efficient manner to complete the various tasks of keeping the center running smoothly. Each baby/toddler is different and is on his or her own schedule, so my ability to multitask and juggle my many different responsibilities allowed me to fully enjoy my work.
After I graduated from Lexington High, I wanted to continue to work with children. I attended Bridgewater State University and studied psychology and early childhood education. While at BSU, I worked as an assistant teacher for preschoolers at the university Children's Center for four years. The preschoolers were great and so much fun to be around. They had a lot of energy and questions and really kept me on my toes.
During my junior year, I volunteered as a Corps member for Jumpstart, an organization whose mission is to work toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. I devoted 300 hours to this program, working with a young child in a one to one mentorship designed to develop literacy, language and social skills. With Jumpstart, I spent a week in Hammond, Louisiana promoting literacy in low-income communities. This experience was very rewarding and really opened my eyes and made me appreciate all I have to be thankful for.
Hi, I’m Leng! I am 33 years old. I’m Chinese-Cambodian, I have three brothers and one sister, and love being from a large family. We came to Lexington, MA in 1990 to escape the Khmer Rouge in the seventies. I feel so fortunate that we are here because it has given us so many opportunities.
Since I was fifteen years old, I have been working with children ranging in age from three months to teenagers. I started my childcare experience in community service that turned into a profession that I really enjoy and want to continue to develop. I am pursuing my Masters degree, studying Special Ed. I’m currently a Special Education Tutor and an English Language Tutor during the school year and a Camp Teacher during the summer.
