interactive they now are with young children. They are all living happy, active and professional lives. I'm waiting now for the next phase – marriage proposals! I am up to date with CPR and First Aid Certification, passed CORI checks for the last 28 years and have a clean driving record.

Currently, I have been a full-time nanny to three adorable girls and their three dogs in Concord, Massachusetts. I have been lucky to be working with this family for the past three years. It has been thrilling to watch as the girls mature and become more self-sufficient and confident. In addition to child care, I regularly perform duties such as grocery shopping, cooking dinners, laundry, scheduling car maintenance, errands, birthday parties, and dog walking. The seven-year old girls are twins and are very close. Sometimes, I think they have their own secret language. However, I am mindful to treat them as individuals with their own personalities. Occasionally they have their own separate play dates and invitations to parties. I explain to them that it is all right to spend time apart pursuing their own interests and friends. Because of the bond between the twins, I often try to make their older sister feel special. She just turned ten and she can do so many more things than her younger sisters. I point out to her how much they emulate and look up to her.

All three girls have countless activities after school, and I use the time driving in the car to check in with them. We talk quite a bit about their day at school along with any concerns they have about school, friends, their activities and sports, etc. Children are so impressionable and require a combination of attention, support, nurturing, positive reinforcement and setting of boundaries. I try to be a good listener and occasionally tell them funny stories about myself and my boys growing up. Of course, they don't forget anything and ask for me to repeat stories over and over again.

I have to say that I enjoy unstructured time with them the best. In the summer, we take many field trips to museums, beaches, animal farms, state parks, visiting friends, and Thoreau Swim & Tennis Club. Also, I love the moments when we are just hanging out at home maybe putting their clothes away and it spontaneously turns into a two-hour fashion show. They are interested in helping me cook and we often have "cooking shows" while dancing around the kitchen singing Taylor Swift songs. The girls are very creative and fascinated with sewing. We picked out material at Joann Fabric and sewed matching party dresses for their American Girl Dolls. Or at times we set up a makeshift animal hospital where each girl comes for an appointment carrying their stuffed animals that need seams sewn or have missing eyes. We spend time with summer reading, coloring, painting, making felt animals, ride bikes, go on hikes, take the dogs for walks, have picnics and study bugs in the back yard. Puzzles and Legos are always a big hit and we spend many hours building cities and towns. Right now they have a passion for making slime and we do this several times a week. Messy!!!

I have taken care of preemies and participated in their Early Intervention Program, two sets of twins and premature triplets. I was the first person the parents left all three triplets with for the day. Recently, I had a position tutoring a second grade boy in math and reading. In addition, I have worked with children with special needs including ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome, Auditory Processing Disorder, deaf, hard of hearing, and severe allergies. Honestly, I enjoy children of all ages and personalities as each age in childhood brings with it specific achievements, goals, activities and milestones. I have taken care of children through the night and on weekends.

In my day care program, I created a preschool curriculum and took care of children of all ages ranging from infants to teenagers. The kids thought my back yard was a local park with all the fun equipment. I taught many children to swim in my pool and to jump off the side into the water. We belonged to The Children's Museum in Boston, a structured play group in Melrose, and the North Shore Music Theater.

Throughout the years, I have taken countless workshops, seminars and classes in the child care field - some college accredited. I attended Burdett Business School in the Prudential Center in Boston and studied sign language to become an interpreter for the deaf at Gallaudet College in Washington, D.C. I have taught completely deaf children classes in ballet and jazz and performed with them on the steps of the National Mall in D.C. I have owned my own business designing and making fleece hats shaped as sharks, dinosaurs, jesters, bunny and puppy ears and hats for children on spots teams, skiers and snowboarders. Before I was "married with kids" I worked for The Advertising Club of Boston as an event planner for various events throughout the city of Boston. Events such as Board of Director's meetings at the Omni Parker House, an annual Holiday party at the Fairmont Copley Plaza for 1800 guests, the Hatch Awards at The House of Blues, and restaurant openings throughout the city. One of my favorite events entailed being a tour guide and hotel liaison for a group of high school musicians and dancers from Ireland performing at the Annual Ireland Funds Gala Dinner at The Westin Boston Waterfront.

So besides my passion for caring for children, I have been a member of the Chelmsford Annual Holiday Festival for the past five years. My responsibilities include filling up the horse-drawn carriages with children and Santa, face painting, story time, and arranging for the Girl Scouts to sing carols. I have volunteered my time to Oxfam America, and organization training dogs to accompany veterans with PTSD and to Boston Strong - survivors of Boston Marathon bombing. I love to dance, take yoga and Barre classes, hike on beautiful trails throughout Chelmsford, Concord and Lexington, go for bike rides with my husband and camp throughout New England. My husband, Larry, is a computer analyst and a photographer. Cooking is another way I like to spend my free time and my specialties are clam chowder and chocolate mousse. Definitely raising three athletes greatly improved my cooking skills. I have been an avid reader since I was young and enjoy time spent reading a good book or watching an interesting movie. I love holidays and tremendously enjoy spending time with my family, friends, nieces and nephews.

Nancy

Boston's Best BabySitters

My name is Nancy  and I live in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. I consider myself a true "New Englander" and appreciate and look forward to all four seasons; especially winter with the snow! I love taking care of children and find it very rewarding. Over the past 25 years, I have worked as a child care provider. I owned and operated my own day care business for 18 years and have been employed as a full-time nanny for the last eight years.  I am the second oldest of five and from a young age helped my mother with the youngest three. I enjoyed the responsibility of being one of their protectors and role models. My husband and I raised three wonderful sons who all successfully graduated from college along with participating in college lacrosse.  My own three boys were included in my day care program when they were young, and they helped out as the grew older. From that experience, I am proud of how patient and

My husband and I were at the holiday party for his department
at Boston Children’s Hospital on Saturday night
(at the Copley Marriott hotel) and our 3 children went to the childcare room.
We were very impressed with the sitters [Eileen, Nancy, Patricia]
that took care of the children (from your company).
Our kids were happy and entertained the whole evening,
and did not want to leave!
I was so pleased with the way the caregivers interacted with our children,
and felt confident leaving my kids with them.
