Mandarin Oriental Hotel Boston, 27 & 29 May:

Luisa was incredible, so warm and professional.

She came at extremely short notice to babysit our sleeping 5yo,

which was so appreciated!

She was just wonderful.

If I lived in Boston Luisa would be my No 1 choice of babysitter!

Hello, My name is Luisa. I am an American citizen, experienced tutor and professional childcare provider, educated in humanities. I am also an Interior Designer, have worked one year at Montessori School, and am bilingual in English and Spanish. For the past 18 years, I have worked with several happy families throughout Boston, contributing to the upbringing and care of many children, ranging in age from newborn to eight-years-old. I have experience with twins and I am very familiar with food allergies/restricted diets.

I am an energetic yet very patient and loving caregiver who encourages developmentally-appropriate activities. I enjoy providing enriching experiences for the children I care for, as I did with my own children.

(I have already raised 3 successful grown children of my own; all are graduates of Ivy League and top universities like Harvard and Boston College.) I am extremely reliable. I have an excellent driving record. I am extremely conscious about what  it means to take care of the most important part of your life.

As an Infant Nanny:
I tend toward the crunchy side, being very supportive of holding the baby often, exposure to nature, music, movement, and other forms of creative play/self-expression. I am interested in baby sign language, and am very interested in cultivating a sense of wonder and play- a la the Montessori school of education- while ensuring that your baby feels very supported and loved. At the same time, (after baby is 6-months old) I also understand the importance of boundaries, structure and routine of some kind  to increase a sense of comfort and security.

As a Children's Nanny:

I believe in the importance of compassionate communication, playtime, mindful listening, and a hearty dose of silliness and exploration for the healthy socio-emotional development of children. I myself enjoy music, walks outside, playing piano, making homemade jam, playing LOTS of games, listening to NPR, taking painting classes or yoga or ballet, gardening, cooking, and reading everything from historical nonfiction to fantasy/sci-fi.
