Leah could not have been better and quite literally dropped everything to help us out.
My husband and I were new to the area and expecting a baby very soon,
but had no one to take care of our three year old while we were at the hospital.
Leah came over before the baby came to meet our daughter and they instantly hit it off.
I ended up being induced early and Leah came as soon as she could (which was really fast)
so my husband could head to the hospital to meet me.
She sent us frequent updates and pictures to show us the fun our daughter
was having and it really helped us feel less stressed about that so we could focus on having a baby!
We were so lucky to have Leah there for us for those couple of days.
I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a great sitter.
She’s the best!

Pass along a big thank you to all of the babysitters (Eileen, Jill, Leah, Maria)
that were onsite this weekend!
They were all fantastic and we really appreciated having them at the event.
Thanks again! Looking forward to working with you in the future.
Best,

Leah was FANTASTIC today!
She and Sasha are a perfect match, they really get along beautifully.
I'd love to have Leah's support for this conference.
Any chance you could reach out to her first to see if she is available?
Thank you!

Leah
My name is Leah. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to work with children. I began babysitting as a teenager and loved it. I had regular families I would babysit for when I would come home for college as well. I developed a strong sense of wanted to help children that were ill while I was attending Assumption College. I decided to apply to graduate school immediately following graduation. So in 1997, I began working on my Master’s Degree in Child Life and Family Centered Care. I had the opportunities to work with children in hospitals, clinics and child care centers during my internships.
I began a job teaching in one of the centers I interned in straight out of Grad school. I started out as a teacher and worked my way up to the Director within two years. I had the opportunity to work with children in an education setting birth through age 5.
After two years, I then became the Director of the Family Child Care Center at Franciscan Hospital for Children. After 13 years, I was named as the Director of the Medical Day Care program at the hospital as well. For two years I managed both the Family Child Care Center and the Medical Day Care before leaving in 2014. It was a hard decision to leave after 15 years, but I needed to work closer to home.
As a mom of three girls ages 14, 12 and 9 I needed to be around more for after school activities and school vacations. I managed to find a position as Director of the Tower Day School which is walking distance to my home. I am able to spend the mornings with my children getting them off to school and be there for them in the afternoons. Because the school is only open during the school year, I have time off during school vacations and summers.
In addition to caring for children my whole life, I have a passion for caring for animals as well. I was the owner of two pugs for over 15 years. After we lost them at the age of 15, I missed having the presence of a dog in my home. However, the pain of losing them was so great, I never wanted to feel that pain again but I missed having a dog. So, in doing research I found an organization that helps to rescue pugs, the Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE), with in-home foster care until a suitable home can be determined. I am now a foster to dogs that are surrendered to the organization.
My hope in joining Boston’s Best Babysitters is to continue my work with caring for children and animals as I have been doing for over 18 years.
